As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join our team and further strengthen our position in the market.
Position Overview:
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing customer accounts, and driving growth within their assigned territory. This role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual who can build strong relationships with clients, understand their business needs, and provide tailored solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B sales within the plastics, building materials, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
This position has no direct reports.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Identify and qualify new business opportunities within an assigned territory, targeting manufacturers, distributors, and other end-users of poly lumber products.
Manage and grow customer accounts by providing excellent service, addressing needs, resolving issues, and offering tailored solutions.
Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen relationships, gather feedback, and identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
Prepare and deliver engaging sales presentations and product demonstrations to clients, highlighting the advantages of using plastic lumber over traditional materials.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients to achieve win-win outcomes and close sales effectively.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure product availability, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of our plastic lumber products, including features, benefits, and applications, to effectively convey value to clients.
Assist in developing and executing strategies to achieve sales targets and expand market penetration.
Monitor and report on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to Sales Management.
Track and report on sales performance, pipeline development, and customer feedback using the company’s CRM system.
Participate in sales meetings, trade shows, and industry events as a representative of the company.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in outside B2B sales.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and growing client relationships.
Strong business acumen with the ability to understand complex manufacturing processes and present technical solutions.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel as required.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Experience within the plastics, building materials, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
Proficient with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to travel.
